The approximately 120 companies currently in Wa'ed's venture capital, loan and incubation portfolios are regularly making news, setting benchmarks and passing business milestones.

Joi Gifts
New Wa'ed VC company

Wa'ed Ventures joined two UAE institutional investors and two Gulf angel investors in a $2.5 million venture capital investment in the Middle East's largest gifts platform.
SICCO
Wa'ed loan addition

The 3.75 million SAR loan will enable the Kingdom's first producer of a ubiquitous compound used in the oil and gas drilling process, calcium bromide.
 

Mohtwize
New Wa'ed VC company

The recent Wa'ed Ventures addition is the first ad-driven podcasting platform in the Kingdom to pay podcasters on a per-listen basis. 


Nano Ink Project
Approved for testing

 
This project from Wa'ed Incubation's 2021 Summer Series to apply layers of graphene micro sensors to oil and gas pipes to detect corrosion, will be tested at Aramco's Shedgum gas plant near Khobar.
 


Avantcare, Yasmin Altwaijri
Excellence Award


The co-founder of Avantcare, a virtual platform for customized healthcare in Wa'ed's Incubation e-Factory, was honored by the League of Arab States with an excellence award for Arab women in healthcare.


Red Sea Farms
UN award, new investors
 
The Wa'ed Ventures hydroponics experts won a major award at the UN Food Systems 2021 conference and signed on US investors AppHarvest and Bonaventure Capital in a $16 million round.

Ynmo
Distribution agreement

 
The Wa'ed Ventures portfolio company whose teaching software helps kids with autism and other disabilities, signed a distribution agreement with Classera, a US distributor serving 5 million educators.
Future Platform
School outreach

The Wa'ed Incubation virtual-reality start-up demonstrated the modules "Food Planet" and "Antibiotic" at Dammam's Knowledge & Growth School with students such as Yasmeen Badr Abuzaid, left. 
 
Kashaf Alkawashef
ISO Certification

The Wa'ed loan portfolio company received ISO certification for the manufacture and sale of in vitro diagnostic reagents, an endorsement of its manufacturing processes and product quality.
